Southgate were pleased once again to support Alzheimer’s Society, teaming up with Ely On Par Golf Club & Driving Range.
Ely On Par has a great ethic: “We want to make the challenging and rewarding game of golf accessible to everyone, regardless of age or skill.”
On Saturday 10th August, Ely On Par held their ‘Charity Golf & Fun Day’. Following an 18 hole competition between 12 teams, the evening consisted of raffles, stalls and other attractions. Southgate supported the event with a donation of golf balls, placed into a ‘Guess the number of balls’ competition.
Ely On Par’s Managing Director, Graham Mawe said “The whole day went very well, blustery and a challenge for the golf, but overall a great day. We raised over £1100 for the Charity, with £130 contribution from the [Southgate] balls.”
Alzheimer’s Society is the only UK charity that campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure and supports people living with dementia today. Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and there’s currently no cure.
As a company and as individuals the staff at Southgate have a strong charitable ethic, many volunteering and participating in sponsored events to raise funds to support charities.
